For an 8kg front loader, start with 17.5ml or five pumps of our Advanced Wash. This is a baseline, not a strict rule.

If your laundry is heavily soiled, you will need a bit more. Surfactants latch onto dirt and lift it into the water. When clothes are very dirty, those surfactants can get used up, leaving less power to clean.

If you are using a larger machine, you may also need to increase your dose. More water means the detergent is more diluted, so it needs a boost to stay effective. 

The easiest way to get it right is to look at the bubbles. You want a light layer of suds, just a few centimetres. Any more than that and you are using too much.

Yes, Advanced Wash is grey water and septic safe.

Our active cleaning ingredients are also all plant based or organic and our formula contains no phosphates. This means Advanced Wash is generally safe to use with a biocycle system, however, if you have a highly sensitive system we would recommend checking our Ingredients Page with your system supplier.

If you are using Advanced Wash it's important to remember that all Dirt products are designed for cleaning, and specifically target muck and bacteria. There’s an old saying, "the dosage determines the poison", which is especially true for all septic systems.

Using Dirt (or any cleaning product) beyond the recommended dosage and for more than an average amount of laundry (5-7 loads per week) can run the risk of disrupting the healthy bacterial balance of the system.

Yes, you can.

The difference between front and top loading detergent you find in the supermarket is that top loading detergent generally contains more bubbling ingredients. This is because top loaders use nearly double the amount of water as front loaders. 

If you use some top loading detergents in a front loader, they'll bubble too much, and reduce the quality of the wash (because too many bubbles will make it really difficult for your machine to create the friction it needs to wash clothes effectively). So, if you see a detergent that’s suitable for front and top loaders, it'll indicate that there's no extra bubbling agent.

Whilst there’s no need for extra bubbling agents in our laundry liquid, you may need to alter the dosage of your detergent if you have a top loader because of the extra water.
