FAQs

Do the bottles come full?

Yes, they certainly do. The full size dispenser contains 475ml and the Carry On bottle 20ml of Stain Remover.

What’s the difference between the Food & Drink Stain Remover and the Oil, Body & Grease Stain Remover?

Our Food and Drink Stain Remover uses oxygen bleach to lift the colour out of dye-based stains, so works best on things like like coffee, red wine and berries.

Our Oil, Body and Grease Stain Remover uses enzymes to break down protein and oil-based stains. It works best on anything bodily, like blood, sweat and milk, or anything oily, like butter, makeup and mayonnaise.

We make them separately because oxygen bleach and enzymes can’t be combined in a liquid format: the bleach destroys the enzymes.

If you’re unsure what to use, check out our Stain Guide.

Can I use this on all fabrics?

The Food and Drink Stain Remover cannot be used on garments that say "do not bleach".

The labels generally exist on delicate fabrics; like wools and silks, and fabrics that have not been through a thorough 'dye setting' process.

If in doubt, we would recommend you patch test, by spraying a small amount of the stain solution onto an inconspicuous part of the fabric, and wait 30 minutes to check that everything is okay first.

What happens if I leave the Stain Remover on for more than 30 minutes?

On many fabrics, nothing will happen. But on some, where the dye wasn’t properly set or where a lot of optical brighteners were used in manufacturing, the stain remover can start working past the stain and into the dye itself. This can cause the treated area to fade or turn yellow.

We recommend always washing, or blotting the product off with water after 30 minutes.

Can I use it as a post-wash treatment and dry it in the sun?

No, do not expose the fabric to sunlight while the product is on there. The combination of oxygen bleach and UV light can cause fabric damage and yellowing.

So, use the treatment, rinse it out properly, then let the sun do its thing. Just don’t combine the two at once.
