How to use

  • Follow garment care label instructions and always patch test fabric for colourfastness
  • Use the applicator spray bottle to target the stain directly
  • If the stain is tough, use the end of the nozzle to agitate the stain slightly
  • Allow the stain remover between 5 minutes and half an hour to work before machine washing or blotting to remove the stain remover residue
  • If you're out and about use the carry on bottle to target fresh stains, allow 30 minutes to work (but not longer)
  • Always blot or wash solution off after 30 minutes
  • Do not leave to dry in direct sunlight

Are the Food and Drink Spot Stain Treater Refills part of the Refill Return program?

Absolutely, yes. All our refills are collected for reuse, including our Food and Drink Spot Stain Treater Refills.
How long will the Food and Drink Spot Stain Treater Refill Bundle last?

It really just depends on how often you use it, but each refill pack contains about 150 stain treatments; totalling 450 overall. On average, our customers find this supply lasts them anywhere between 4 and 6 months.

Because the product contains oxygen bleach which loses performance over time, our advice would be to aim to use the product within 6-12 months of purchase.
Can I buy the Food and Drink Spot Stain Treater in Bulk?

We have recently updated the size of the Food and Drink Spot Stain Treater to 450ml in order to make it as economical as possible.

At the moment, we don't intend to create a bulk sized refill pack because the ingredients in our Spot Stain Treater are sensitive to exposure to air, so we have designed the packaging size to limit the amount of air exposure which protects performance.

What happens if I leave the solution on for longer than the recommended time?

Leaving the Food and Drink Stain Remover on for more than 30 minutes can cause "fibre burn," which permanently damages the fabric and leaves a yellow cast. This can also happen if you leave the treated garment in direct sunlight before rinsing it.

Because the formula contains oxygen bleach, it works by opening the fabric fibres to oxidise the stain. If the solution sits for too long or is exposed to harsh UV rays, that oxidation process accelerates and damages the fabric.

For the best results, use the treatment for a maximum of 30 minutes, rinse it out thoroughly, and then let the sun naturally dry your clothes. Just don't combine the stain remover and sunlight at the same time.
Which stains won't the Food and Drink Spot Stain Treater work on?

Nearly all stains will get a lift from our Food and Drink Spot Stain Treater. However, protein and fat-based stains (like blood, sweat, or oil) require an enzymatic cleaner like our Oil, Body and Grease Stain Remover.

This is because the main stain removal ingredients in the Spot Stain treater are; oxygen bleach and surfactants. These break down colour based molecules like synthetic and natural food dye and lift them away. The only exception to this being some paint and ink stains, which you’ll need an alcohol or solvent to remove.

The main stain removal ingredients in our Oil, Body, and Grease Stain Remover are enzymes and surfactants (which break down oil and protein stains like blood and grease spills, and lift them away).

Fun fact: Oxygen bleach and enzymes cannot exist in the same liquid formula, as the bleach will kill the enzymes. They can however co-exist in powder form, as the molecules are not 'activated' - so if you're after a low key washing solution, Powder Booster might be your go to.
