FAQs

Does the Food and Drink Spot Stain Treater Carry On come full?

Yes, it comes full with our Food and Drink Stain Remover. Our glass options come with 20ml and our plastic option comes with 30ml.

When out and about, do I just spray Food and Drink Stain Remover on, and leave it on?

No. You spray the stain solution on and leave it for about 30 minutes. If the stain will instantly fade (berries, wine ect), you'll notice that it has already started to work.

After 30 minutes, blot the stain remover solution off, just with a wet piece of cloth or tissue.

This will remove the risk of any interaction between the fabric dye and the stain remover.

Also make sure that the stain remover doesn’t come into contact with any direct UV (sunlight) whilst it’s on your clothes, as this can create a fibre burn.

What happens if I forget about the Stain Remover and leave it on for longer than 30 minutes?

If you leave it on for longer than 30 minutes on many fabrics, nothing will happen. But on others, where the dye wasn’t properly set or where a lot of optical brighteners were used in manufacturing, the stain remover can start working past the stain and into the dye itself. Because the formula contains oxygen bleach, leaving it on too long can also lead to over-oxidation. When that happens, the fibres can start to shift towards a yellow tint.

Thirty minutes is a conservative window that keeps your fabric safe while giving the formula time to do its job. Think of it as a good general rule.

After that, blot the fabric with water to lift the solution if you’re out and about, or pop it straight into the wash if you’re near a machine.

Can I use the Food and Drink Spot Stain Treater Carry On as a post-wash treatment and dry it in the sun?

Sunlight is brilliant for lifting stubborn marks, but not when you’ve used this stain remover solution.

Because it contains oxygen bleach, the formula works by opening up the fibres and oxidising the stains. That is exactly what you want.

But if you then put those open fibres in harsh UV, the sun can accelerate that oxidation past the good point. Push it too far and you risk fibre damage and a yellow cast.

So, use the treatment, rinse it out properly, then let the sun do its thing. Just don’t combine the two at once.

Can I take the Food and Drink Stain Remover Carry On on an airplane?

Yes, absolutely. At 20ml or 30ml, you can pop these in your carry-on or pack in your suitcase. Our Food and Drink Stain Remover Carry Ons were designed to be taken with you wherever your next adventure takes you.
